|
You will learn how to set out building lines, be taught brick and block work and how to ensure your walls are square and vertical. You should learn how to build a corner, a pillar, a pier and a cavity wall. You will also learn the different types of bricklaying bonds eg: English Bond, Flemish Bond and Stretcher Bond, and be shown how to do pointing for face work. Some courses also demonstrate how to put in a damp course and how to put in lintels and windows. Most bricklaying courses are designed to provide you with plenty of general bricklaying knowledge to ensure that once you leave the training centre so that you are confident in all areas of brickwork. |
